How I Stole the Key to His Heart

As most of you already know, Kyle and I are high school sweethearts. We were mere acquaintances, until one day in Concert Choir, when the stealing of keys turned into a lifetime journey.

Kyle had been, in his own unique way, flirting the whole class period. We were on our choir stands, and he was on the step below me. He kept swinging his keys around and (purposefully) hitting me in the stomach with them. Well, finally I had enough and the next time he hit me with them I grabbed them and quickly ran over to my backpack and zipped them into the front pocket.

After school had finished, Kyle obviously needed his keys to get home. He had to get my number from a friend, and call me so he could find me and get his keys. Later afternoon he texted me:

“Mmmm yeah you must think you’re really funny :)

We quickly became friends and Kyle started coming over to my house on Wednesday and Friday mornings to have breakfast with my family, since he had early swim practice from six to seven each morning and our school didn’t start unil 8:30. He was a huge hit with the family, and I was beginning to have an even bigger crush on him than I already had.

I can remember our first real date, we went to see a movie. And as a joke, Kyle dumped the WHOLE huge bowl of popcorn on me. Yes, he’s always been a real charmer. I don’t know why, but it made me like him even more. Everything made me like him more, and eventually… love him.

Our dating anniversary was December 12th 2009, our engagement date July 3rd 2011, and our wedding anniversary June 30th 2012. I love him more than I can even describe, and I cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives together.

So, I guess you could say I literally stole the key to his heart…
